Strength training is like investing in a 401K. Deposit money now and that amount grows more and more every day until you need to withdraw. You deposit time and energy to build your muscles and bones stronger. To become more capable, to lift things up, carry them, squat down, and stand up.
Like investing, strength training has its ups and downs. The stock market isn’t perfectly linear. After your initial novice phase, the improvements come more slowly. Sometimes you backslide. As an investment, it’s best in these moments to, as Dave Ramsey would say, ride the roller coaster. Through the ups and downs. Stay in the car. See it to the end.
