The Cards You’re Dealt

The Cards You’re Dealt
July 20, 2018 Dan Raimondi

If you’ve ever played poker, the name Doyle Brunson may sound familiar. The winner of 10 world series of poker bracelets, Brunson played professionally for over 50 years and was a legend in the game. His signature 10-2 hand won him two main event titles in 1976 and 1977. Yes, in back to back years- going heads up against opponents with stronger hands- the same 2 cards earned him the coveted championship.

You don’t have any control over the cards you’re dealt. But we all have to sit here and play the game. Deciding to fold or call or push all in- these are the decisions we can control. Good hands can be beaten and bad hands can win it all. One thing is certain- if you sit at the table and never play, you won’t win. Change your mindset- play the cards you’re given, not the ones you wish you had.
