It’s a great start. And it’s certainly something to do every day, as often as you can. But having gone for some walks is not enough to help you if you fall down. Walking will not build muscle and strengthen your bones the way strength training will. Walking will not take your body through the range of motion that replicates common activities in everyday life: squatting down, standing up, lifting things off the floor and putting stuff overhead.
You should walk. But take it a step further. Find a gym where you can learn how to train. Find a coach who can teach you. If you are the kind of person who wants to do everything they love when they’re older, you’re going to need more than walking can provide.
