The longer you stick with the same program- exercises, sets, reps, intensity- the longer you might find you need a complete change. If you find yourself somewhat burned out from your normal training, consider a wholesale change of your program. Try something new that gets you excited: strongman, Olympic lifting, bodyweight training/ gymnastics, different types of cardio( running, biking, swimming, etc…). Do some bodybuilding. Use machines you’ve never used. Work muscles you’ve always wanted to improve. Take as much time as you need. In the grand scheme of training, taking 4-6 weeks to focus on something else doesn’t mean anything. In fact, you might find it’s what keeps you in the game longer.
